Thanks guys. As of right now, I'll be entering that BB into the big buck contest. Here is a pic of one of my days fishing w/ Dad last week. All of them came on topwater in the jumps. We caught 2 more the next day. i318.photobucket.com/albums/mm415/storm1507/016-2.jpgEdit: Just sat down w/ some breakfast sausage made from the deer we shot ML weekend. Man that stuff is good (and healthy).

I have to go to the dermatologist tomorrow afternoon and then it's off to the Lake. Sure hope we do better than our last trip.
It is supposed to rain most of the week which may actually help. The cloudy skies keep the stripers feeding on top longer in the morning.

We ended up catching two keepers the first day out and none the second day. Both were caught in the jumps, but they are slowing down. Our next trip down we will be trolling w/ shiners again. Dermatologist report...27 spots frozen off and I'm scheduled for a surgery in Dec. Stay out of the sun.

No outdoor activity for me lately. Today I have a basketball game of my nephews to go to, then UK vs Tenn football game to watch, and later tonight UK basketball. Nice time of the year. UK played last night at midnight. I was determined that I needed my beauty sleep more than I needed to watch the game, so I took sleeping pills. They didn't work. I ended up watching the game. We won!! I may be getting a new lab pup at the beginning of they year, so maybe some duck hunting for me next year.

I use to hunt Fishpond and a few strip ponds. Most of the ponds I hunted have been drained. I will hunt anywhere I can find a place, even Fishpond EARLY in the morning on real bad days. I've also hunted Carr Fork a few times. Next year I may have you on the lookout for me. It has been years since I duck hunted seriously.

Good news.... along with all my little nephews/neices I also got to see my new lab pup Christmas day. She is 3 weeks old and I will get to pick her up around the end of Jan. Bad news....I almost lost my old lab again last week. I don't know how long she will make it, but she seems to pull through each time she has a problem. This is the 3rd bad spell she has had in the last year and a half. I'm heading to the Lake to do some winter time striper fishing later today.

It was pretty chilly on the water the last couple of mornings. No fish caught, but we had a pretty good time. The first morning the fog was THICK. It is amazing how fast you can lose your bearing when you can't see anything. I had left my GPS in the boat the night before and I guess the batteries were cold and low....LOL. A buddy of mine who guides was fishing and he called me and said the stripers were tearing it up on top about a mile from where I was. The only problem is that mile was the way the crows fly. I trailered the boat, drove 5 miles, put the boat back in, and ran up the lake about 3 miles and I WAS TOO LATE. I haven't put any stripers pictures up so I'll throw in a link to one of my buddies clients who caught one over 20# before we made it to them. conleystriper.com/gallery.html
