I still have deer meat in the freezer so I'm not too worried yet.
I do need to get out and shoot my bow pretty soon. I'm also thinking about getting a crossbow.

Yea, it came as a surprise. He had about 22 years...one great thing about working LE. I now wish I transferred 14 years ago when I had the opportunity. Oh well, I have 21 1/2, plus 1 1/2 yrs seasonal that I bought, plus 21 months sick time, AND I can buy 5 yrs. That all adds up to almost 30 years...so I kinda in the drivers seat now. We went buy you yesterday on the way to the dinner.

I got to fish some last week and we did pretty good. Here are my 2 fish from the first day and Dad got one. i318.photobucket.com/albums/mm415/storm1507/003.jpgThe larger is 37" and 19# the other is 30" and 11#. The next day we caught our limit of 4...........14,13,7, & 6 pounders. We had 3 on the line at the very end and had to turn the last one back....30" plus. It thrashed to the top and wasn't going to make it so we let another boat know about it and he picked the fish up. The bigger stripers can't handle being caught this time of the year. It is the first time we didn't get our rods out of the water in time after limiting out.

That's a dandy for sure. How do you fish for them this time of year?

We have to troll this time of the year. They are deep 40-70' now, so it is difficult for us to keep shiners alive long enough to do any good. So, we are now using Storm wildeye swimbaits.

Caught someone after they had dug my father-in-law's (he passed away about 12 yrs ago) ginseng patch. He had already dug the old patch and had moved onto my property. Some of the plants were around 30 yrs old. GGGRRRR. "Claims" he didn't know it was someone's patch. He walked within 20 yards of my in-laws and was digging the patch within 15 yrds of their barn. When I caught him he could plainly see my house. Luckily he didn't quite make it to where I have some better plants. Bad thing it was an old neighbor and I couldn't give him some old fashioned KY justice. His family is one of, if not the worst in the county. It's the maddest I've been in my adult life. He told someone he thought I was going to shoot him.

That is just pitiful. Some people will try anything. I would have made him give me the ginseng or the worth of it one............Something like that could never be replaced.
