Dad and I (well this time...me ;D) caught three keepers while I was at the Lake working this week. Fishing in the morning early and working in the evening can wear an old feller out.
The stripers were 33, 31, and 27 inches. They are starting to come up in the jumps some, but all of ours were caught trolling. There has been at least 3 boats flip this month with 2 fatalities.

Sounds like y'all are still doing good. Were all the accidents on LC?

Sounds like y'all are still doing good. Were all the accidents on LC? Yea, the accidents that I know about were on Cumberland. One was a Poker Run and the boat was going an estimated 130 MPH. It happened straight across from where we put the boat in. I don't think I will get to fish until after ML season.

I got to deer hunt this morning for the first time. I took my new Horton x-bow and saw 4 deer...2 does, a little one, and a small buck. But, to make a long story short, they saw me too. It seems no matter how long I stay, the deer light doesn't turn green until I'm walking out. LOL Even then, I came pretty close to getting a shot at the biggest doe. Oh well, more hunting this week for me.

I think I'll try Knott Co. this weekend. It has been good to me several times in the past. I might even get to hear a elk or two bugle.

Shelia and I both got deer Friday, hers w/ my new crossbow and mine w/ my Mathews Drenalin.
It has put me behind on my work and projects around the house. I'll try to post the story and pics sometime later.

Shelia killed a spike. She was at first going to let it pass, but she won't get to hunt much w/ her MIL here (and nobody helping). So she decided to take her first deer w/ a xbow. I had went to a new spot and walked around w/ my blind looking for a good place. Finally tried to set up my blind and it rolled down the hill on the flatest place around. I was already sweaty, so I just plopped down. Around 8 AM, decided I need a nap , so I layed back, then I sat up to get my jacket to put under me. I took off my wrist strap and unhooked my release off the string, and THEN saw a deer heading right at me.,,,25 yrds. I got my release and wrist strap back on and it had spotted me at 10 yards. It finally started up the hill and I drew and it came right back to where it was staring at me...head on. I remember looking real close to make sure it didn't have antlers because it was a good size deer LOL. It finally turned just enough and I slid my rage broadhead just behind the shoulder. It went about 30 yards. When I went to it, I discovered it was a little button buck. Dang, they need to make a warning on a peep sight "Objects may appear bigger". Remembering back, I never really got a good look at it to see how big it was. But, I really thought it was a good one. First time I have been on the ground w/ one while at full draw in a long time. Oh well, the tenderloin and breakfast sausage has sure been good.

Our ML season opens this weekend...I'm taking my crossbow instead. In the meantime, I'll be laying some concrete walkways when I'm not working. 150# most likely by this time next week.
