And are there any dog purchases in your future? Oh yeah we really want to a picture of your pooch too!
I have a German Shorthair Pointer named Gretta's Bureau Maximillian that call Max. Actually my wife and daughter call him Max. I call him"you'll never be the bird dog you mother was you dufus." We also have a Heinz 57 that is supposed to be my kids dog. But Princess knows who feeds her and loves on her and who cleans up the poop and gives her deer bones.

I have 2 choclate labs. A 12 yr old male (Thunder) who is retired with the easy life at my parents and a 6 yr old female ( Windy) who is extremely talented despite her owner. I also have a 7 yr old fiest (Storm) who thinks he is the baddest thing this side of Mike Tyson.

i have a [small] american lab.gary at [lion country supply] raised a small lab litter. he should not get more than 70 pds.he is a good hunter at 11 months but no pheasants here to train on. we have grouse but scare this year.he is good in the house which i like.big labs are no good for upland but are great for ducks.remember that if you get one[small is better]

Blue has the best looking dogs on here for sure. I love Setters and Wirehairs. I wish the weather here would allow us to hunt Setters but it don't get that cold in the winter here anymore and those hairy breeds can't go all day. BTW I'm trying to get pics of Max and Princess on here but again I'm having picture hosting difficulties. Okay here's Max... And here's Princess and Max...

We might be getting pup in January. It's been almost two years since I put mine down and I need a birddog. Wife wants "just a dog" and I said that we may as welll get one that'll hunt. I'm thinking setters and I'll have to keep her shaved pretty close in the hot months, but I can do that. Mostly dove, an occassional covey of quail.
Blue, your pics are coming up red x's on my stupid dial up. I'll pull them up at work, but how much do your setters weigh and how often do you run them. My yard is kinda small, but I've got open field everywhere around me.

Gotres, the first setter,Joker weighs 60 pounds,Winston is about 10 pounds lighter. This time of year they get a good run once a week.I live in a city and have a small yard too but I don't have to go far to to get onto some big ground with wild birds, mostly Hungarian Partridge. H4F1,yea I did that very thing, got the pic blown up and put it in a wood frame,I'm lookin at it now .

Thanks Blue. I'd probably get a female because of the smaller size. Good to hear the you only have to run them once a week...I was reading that I would have to run her everyday and I don't know that I would do that. Seem like great dogs though. Good for field and family both.
I'm looking for a breeder now. If anyone knows someone who has or is expecting a litter, please let me know. I'm not afraid to put some miles on the truck.
