I think they should be allowed for hunting, but not during the entire archery season (as is the current Ga. law). Maybe after the first week or so of archery season, then allow them.

I have no problem with them even during the archery season. They can only be used here during the rifle season. They're just another tool used to harvest game and it doesn't effect my way of hunting either way.

This year is the first year they have been allowed to be used in TN. Only during rifle/smoke pole season. I personaly feel they should be allowed in bow season. If they are going to seperate them from bow season shouldn't traditional archey be seperated from compounds?

I try to hunt places that other people don't, so them using a crossbow doesn't really effect me. I use a compound bow during bowseason and and inline muzzleloader during blackpowder season and a Rifle during rifle season. I hope that doesn't offend anyone.

we use one when we hunt in ohio, but they are illegal for use here in wv unless you are handicapped, i would like to see a one or two week season for them here, our archery runs from the second week of oct. till the end of dec. i think they should squeeze a season in there somewhere for them

well, I have always beleived a hunter should be able to use the weapon of his choice. but, I have kinda had a change of heart about xbows in archery season. of the 25-30 hunters camped out in a NWR a couple years ago, only myself and maybe 1 more was usin a compound. these guys, were as healthy and capable as could be, and IMO should have been usin compounds. I think they were just to lazy to learn to use a compound bow. I wish now they would pass a law where xbows could be used only if a hunter was handicaped in some way. there was just no excuse for all those guys totin xbows when they were plenty able to use a compound.

i'm all for them...my husband has one due to his disabilities and if he didn't have one then he wouldn't be able to bow hunt at all and that'd be horrible.

I have mixed feelings on this but if xbows are allowed then why not legalize the drawloc bow and other devises that hold cross bows at full draw.

I don't care Use em if you want to. I have tried them, they are not for me but then again, neither is a longbow so I really couldn't care less if someone wants to use one.

We have a season for them here in KY. I have an uncle who is unable to pull a bow back and he is allowed to carry one during bow season as well. I think that they should be used during the whole bow season. You have to practice with one of those as much as you have to practice with a bow, so why not.

Crossbows have a history that goes back alot further than the muzzleloaders. Im all for a crossbow or a combination crossbow/muzzleloader season. I agree with the use of crossbows during the bow season ONLY for people who have a physical handicap that makes it impossible for them to use traditional bowhunting equipment.

why would that kind of season scare you? Don't like muzzleloaders? You can't be afraid of a crossbow! I have one. I have a muzzleloader too. My cossbow has an effective range of about 35 yards max. My smokepole will reach 100 yards. Both are very noisy. All crossbows are noisy. You can't make them quiet. Should they be legal? Of course! Some people see x-shooters as lazy. Most aren't. Most just don't have the time and area to effectively practice with a compound bow. X-bows give you the flexibilty to not practice much but get you out in the woods if you get the chance. Where I live I can't even shoot my bow--it's illegal! But I can shoot my x-bow in the basement if I have to.

it's a safety thing for me......i'd be scared of all the idiots out there...you don't have to wear orange for bow season but you do for blackpowder.....i'm just being a whiney butt.
