I agree with those who said we should be able to hunt with whatever weapon we please. It would help stop dividing us hunters, what business is it of mine what my neighbor hunts with? "We either stand together or we will all hang together" I happen to love muzzleloaders over all other forms of hunting and would love nothing better than to be able to go out from 15 Sep (start of bow season) to the end of Jan (end of bow season) with one of my 10 muzzleloaders. My goal is to put deer in the freezer and if I like ML's better or am more comfortable with them, so what? Give me my license after I pay for it, tell me how many deer I can take and of what sex, tell me how long the season is, and then leave me the hell alone. I have had enough of the rules, laws, regulations, etc., enough to know that our ancestors would puke if the saw what was going on is this supposedly FREE country.

I agree with Steve...I'm all for it..if it's legal then go for it..it don't effect me one way or the other....If it were legal for you to throw handgrenades at a herd of deer then I would support your right to do that too!

I think it`s a Safty Issue also,X-Bow`s or Bow`s with a Draw-Lock are held at Full-Draw by a Trigger, leaving WAY to much room for MISHAP !!!!! Walking through the wood`s,a branch hit`s the Trigger and your Buddy or another hunter takes an arrow in the Butt.........Mishap! Sitting in a stand, you doze off with your finger on the Trigger, you shot yourself in the foot,or a passing Hunter in the Back.....Mishap ! Let`s say 65lbs of pressure on that Trigger,Trigger Fail`s......Mishap ! Let`s face it,hunting on Public Land is Hazardus enough without adding new worries to the program! Privit Land hunter`s don`t have the Extreme number of other hunter`s to worry about,so I feel they should use whatever they chose to hunt with! And I realy feel for those of you with Disablity`s that won`t allow you to use a Standard Bow,I would FREAK if I couldn`t Hunt during Bow-Season because of it,but I feel EACH STATE should step foward and have an Area or Time set aside for the Handicaped Hunter, with area`s accessable to Wheelchair user`s also. Sometime`s even I take for granted that I have the ablity to get up in my Climber, get way up in a tree, and feel safe again, maybe some shooting Houses with Ramp`s so that the Chiar Bound Hunter can feel safe also........I just don`t think the State does enough for the Handicaped ! I don`t feel X-Bow hunter`s are unsafe, just the X-Bows them self`s !

I have a crossbow, an Excalibur Exocet & what you say about them been unsafe is a pile of deer crap...the situations you used as examples could just as well happen to some one with a firearm so I guess in your mind it's not the hunter that is unsafe it is the firearm!!!!!! Crossbows have safeties on them just like firearms and no I do not have a disability other than arthritis & yes if I had to I could use a compound bow but I choose not to as I love my crossbow!!! ;D It's narrow minded uneducated people that spew forth the crap...just my own .02 cents worth....... ...Brampton Mike

I really dont like the crossbows being legal. . . because the number of bowhunters on public land doubled!! But it doesnt bother me that they are shooting the crossbow and i am shoot a compound. CHEATERS!!! ;D ;D

I don't like them at all and would never use one.
However, if someone chooses to hunt with one, I think that should be their choice.
More power to them.

Will i guess i like them i use one and have 2 of them.
i still ant killed a deer during bow seasion. the first one is so slow "150lb recirve" that i would not shot a deer at 20yds.
my lovely wife bought me a new one for Xmas last year.
its a '150 lb compound"
its faster than the old one but i think 25 to 30 yd will be pusshing it with it.
i plan to keep all shots within 25yds.
my cousions bowtec is smookiking it in speed range and accery.
the way i see it is there is only 2 avantages to using a xbow 1 you dont have to hold it 2 if you all shot a gun you are usto the sights.
compared to a normal bow.
but the bow has a lot of avantages speed, range, power, acercy "due to arrow linth" weight and moveribilty.
my xbow is as wide as my cousions bow is long. 33 in axle to axle for mine and 33 1\2 for his.
the xbow is unwhildly in a bline.
i do under stand the aurments to some extint about the x bow in bow seasion. to some dergree "espicaly comming from a tridinical shooter"
but comming from most compound shooters i do not.
the big thing around here with the bow are the ones over 300fps ibo. thats a long way from primitive hunting.
but thats a differnt topic all together.
i like the idea of hunting with the weapion of choice. espicaly on privet land.

i'm all for it. if it gets one more person hunting, who would normally be sitting at home. back in the day, if it were allowed here, i would have jumped on it. but since i started archery, i'm pretty sure i would never own one, just my preference. but i have no problem sharing the woods with a person carrying one. i think they should be with archery seasons though, not guns. the ranges on bows and xbows are similar. my muzzleloader will reach 200 yards, someone flinging sticks shouldn't be afield with gun hunters. as far as some other safety issues that were brought up, i believe xbows have safties, and the chances of one of them going off "accidentally" are DAMN slim. a stick has never popped off the triger on one of my guns, and i doubt one would pop the trigger on a crossbow

Put them in the muzzleloader season or give them a season for theirselves. I dont want more people in the woods during the archery season with cocked weapons and hair triggers..

put them in ml seasion?
they are not a gun.
make there own seasion? are you willing to give up half of bow seasion?.
you said ""I dont want more people in the woods during the archery season with cocked weapons and hair triggers..""
so is it you just dont want more people hunting?
or is it that you think xbow are more dangerious than bows?
or do you just have no faith in other hunters to be safe?
my xbow trigger is a lot harrder to relice than my cousions bow relice triger is.
with the bow haveing grater range and power iste the bow more dangiors than the xbow?

xbows are not anymore dangerous than a rifle, bow, or muzzle loader. Its all in the hunter. If your a careless hunter than you could do damage with a BB gun.
