Knight American, 3-9 x 50 scope I'm switching to 777 this year and I shot a 240 grain TC sabot in front of a 100 grain load. I uaually group 1-1/2" at a 100 yards.
I've mad a couple modifications to the stock to made it heavier so the recoil is greatly reduced. It shoots about like my .270 now.

I shoot a very old 50 cal TC Renegade side hammer gun. I bought it new 15 or 20 years ago and immediately had it drilled and tapped and mounted a 3x9 Redfield scope on it. I experimented with various loads and bullets and settled on the Hornady 240 gr XTP sabot and 100 grains of FF black powder. This combo will shoot 4" groups at 100 yards and is deadly on whitetails. Took two bucks with it this year on seperate hunts, both were average sized (Fla) 8 pts that weighed 125lbs and 130lbs.
Each shot was at about 60 - 70 yards. The bullets hit the deer in the middle shoulder with complete pass thru and destroyed the heart lung area. Each buck fell over dead within 30 yards.

we cant use scopes on our muzzleloaders here in pa.we believe in tradition[no scopes] is the law. you have to use [flintlock] only here in pa. the best is [thompson hawkens] .those in line ones are a no no here.to easy to use and it has no history like a flintlock.

Just for your info, there were in-line flintlocks produced here in America and in Europe in the 1700s. So while I agree that stainless barrels and plastic stocks have no history, I also know that inline technology is not new and has history.
