Ya,we go after them here, cept they are governed by a season. Can't understand that.
The proshop I frequent host a coyote shooting event every winter/20 dollar entry fee and the most dogs taken by a team takes the pot.Last year one team came in with 10 dogs for a one day shoot.

Man, Texas is OVER RUN with em.
Denton county (where I live) has the highest rabies rate of any county in Texas so they highly encourage their demise.

Coyotes are all over Florida now. I have killed one and seen many others that I could not get a shot at. They are rough on the new born fawn crop every year and also take many new born calves.
They are reproducing here at alarming rates and hunt and kill 24 hours a day all year so you can figure the impact they are having on your wild game populations. Many have been seen around and inside the city limits of several Central Florida towns and coincidentally many small pets began to disappear at about the same time. Out west people cannot let their pets out in their yards because of the coyotes.
Coyotes are bad news to us all. Don't let one escape your gun!

continuous open season here. most guys don't get too excited until we get snow and pelts get prime. as soon as shotgun deer season is over, we will start chasing the s*@* out of them

Continous season and no limit. . . . we shoot'em w/ 3 1/2 inch turkey load w/ the beam of a mag light. It's like turkey hunting in the dark. . . really gets you pumped to hear them running up in the leaves in the dark.

Coyotes have made quick work of the stray cats in the neighborhood and the cottontails too. There all over the hunting property and the general rule is if u see one you shoot it. As for where i live in the city, the neighborhood pooled money together and called in a trapper. He need up pulling six coyotes out of our neighborhood creek area.

Well, I view the coyote as a Huntable Resource and have a self-imposed closed season from Apr-Aug to allow them to raise the young and not have any un-weaned pups starving in the den. If I hunt it, I respect it; besides those young pups are suicidal and run right into the setup....

we are getting more and more around here..there is no closed season no gun restrictions (well I ake that back after further research nothing larger than no.4 shot, or 22 rimfire) and you can even night hunt them here...you only have to have a license and a weapon and have at it...poor ol Cardeer had them surround his blind and congregate with that howl thing they do....I think it gave him a few more grey hairs that evening..
I hear they can really hurt you game bird and deer populations....we still have loads of turkeys and lots of deer but we are seeing more and more yotes

Would you believe that their diet is made up mostly of woodrats and mice? The coyote is an opportunist and will take any eatible species and carrion which usually adds to the stock killing title they have put on them.
