i would not ever buy a pair again of these boots. i bought a pair and only used them 5 times and the soles fell apart and cracked.i used them only for hunting. i paid 185 dollars. i have k mart boots 20 years ago and their soles are still good. paid 19 dollars for them and used them at work hard.i recommend [red wings]rockys are junk.

Too bad to hear that Commanche.I've been wearing the same pair of Rocky's going on 12 years now and they still got another dozen years to go.I only use them to hunt in also. Rocky's are no longer made in the U.S. of A. sadly and I think what you said is proof that their quality has gone downhill after they went overseas.

I have worn Rocky boots for 7 years now & they barely show any sole wear. My only problem is that I have gained weight over the years & they are getting too tight. I only wear them for hunting & scouting.

I've had three different pairs and all three have held up wonderfully. I got a pair in 1989 for hunting that I retired in'99. I a pair of brougans in '96 for everyday wear in the winter that I retired last year. I got another pair just like the brougans for wearing everyday in the winter and I hope we're together several years.
I've some Browning's for this year and they've survived the briars well through their first season.

i used to get the walmart specials but then got a pair of LLBeans which held up for 5years...they were repaired once but at no charge...this past sept. i broke down and bought my first pair of Rocky's (snake boots) and i wouldn't trade them for anything...they are the most comfortable pair of boots i've ever worn...like wearin' tennies. hopefully they'll hold up...so far so good.

My heavy boots are Rocky's. I don't wear them much. 1200 grams of thinsulate don't see much action in Texas but the 4 times I have worn them they seem to be ok. Good to know though. I may think twice when I buy my next pair of boots.

Commanche, How long have you had the boots. Rocky has a one year warranty against defects in materials or craftsmanship. I just sent a pair back to Cabelas that I purchased last february because one boot was causing bruising above my ankle. They said they would exchange it at no charge. Rocky makes some very good boots but flaws do occur once in awhile. I would contact the company.

I personally think that its all about luck. I just cant seem to find a pair of reliable Rocky's, had 2 pair and both leaked bad. My dad and brother, have had just as many as i have and never had a problem. Dad has worn the same design and pair for years w/ out any problems. Did just get a pair of the 16" Rocky Longbeards for turkey hunting and they are really nice so far.

i got mine in 1996 only wore them 5 times. rocky sent me new soles to have resoled. i went to shoe repairman, ouch ,he said 90 dollars to repair.rocky should repair these.shoe repairman said the japanese soles on rocky are junk.he looked at the ones they sent me and said [junk]boy, 185 dollars. i wish you could see my red wings from work in 1993.they look good on soles.it does not make sens to put 90 dollars into a boot that is 7 years old. what bothers me is i only used them 5 times for hunting. i could see if i wore them out.take care

I guess there are always some bad products even from a good company. I have enjoyed my Rocky pack boots & will buy from that company again.

Just to make sure... I am talking about Rocky brand boots. They have a round cornered triangle with a mountain goat inside for a logo. Your post says 'Rocky Mountain boots'. Are we talking about the same company?
