We can hunt on Sundays here in Alabama. I don't have a problem with it one bit.
Since the Jewish Sabbath is saturday by banning stuff on sunday I think the state is showing prefference for one religon over another.

I don't have a problem with it either. It is the only true day off I get. If I wasn't allowed to hunt on Sundays I wouldn't get any hunting time.

It's legal here and has been since I began hunting. I don't and won't do it though. I work shift work so I have plenty of days off ( that is when both units are online and making juice) so there is no need for me to be out on Sunday. I used to go though. I went deer hunting and still made to to church in time to usher once.
Should this topic be in the political discussion forum? ;D ;D ;D

This is the first year you have been able to hunt big game on private land on sunday. I would do it if I still had private land to hunt.

It is legal in Georgia. I don't hunt on Sunday mornings though (occasionally I do on Sunday afternoons). I don't have a problem with those that do hunt on Sunday. I would prefer that they chose to worship & praise God for giving them the opportunity to hunt (among other things) But I also feel the same about those that golf on Sunday. It is one of those 'blue laws' from a time when EVERYONE went to church on Sunday. In this day & age, everyone should choose how & when to worship (if at all). That's between them & God. It's not for the government to decide.

On a side note:
I start every hunt with a prayer of thanksgiving (for the opportunity to just be there). I end every hunt (regardless of the results) with a prayer. I carry a small New Testament in my pack. I read it very regularly. I pray over each deer I take. I probably spend more time praying & reading scripture while hunting than any other time during my week (including Sunday morning).

Legal here on public & private land.
Folks worship in different ways and that's fine by me. God knows your heart.
Religion and politics are only as mixed as we let them be. Jesus offered salvation, not free healthcare.

Yes Hunt it is true! Some states still have "blue" laws on hunting. Hell where I used to live at in Alabama 10 years ago they actually put to a vote total "blue" laws banning all work or commerce on Sundays. Naturally it failed.
I stick by my favortism statement. I am not a Christian. I would not say I am Anti-Christian either. As flhuntress grab bed the concept sometimes you have to look at it from another side.
I DO want to salute our members who feel strongly enough about THEIR religon not to hunt on THEIR sabbath. AND yeah noonebil I can get into your second post as I am close to that.
