Ours opened Sept 1st, I've been seeing pretty good numbers of deer and outlaw has already whacked a doe. I got caught holding the thermacell instead of my bow opening morning and decided to let a good buck walk instead of trying to get my bow off the hanger and I passed on a doe that had a real small fawn with her last weekend.

Started the 15th. Ive got pics of 3 nice bucks, and about 4 that are 7-8 pointers and about 15" wide. Had a bachelor group of 3 bucks around 15" wide coming in the opening night and the wind changed up and spooked em... They were about 60yds out and heading right for me when they spooked. I think I would have taken the 2nd one in line...

For the first time in AR, bow season opened Sept 15th. I kept saying I wasn't going to go but had to sit a stand opening day. It was HOT and skeeters were thick. Sat am I saw a kid about 1/2 hour after daylight skirt the edge of the thicket I was in (public land,,,,grrr). No deer. Sat pm I thought I would get further back and away from people. At 5:00 I caught a glimpse of someone walking toward the road, at 5:20 two people came by within 30 yds, one guy had a ground blind on his back sticking up 4' over his head, catching every limb he walked under. He was also carrying a Gott 5 gallon cooler...I assume to sit on but who knows, it could have been full of booze. I thought I had 2 hours for things to calm down and hunt but about 6:45, 45 min before dark...prime time, they came back thru. I got down and packed my stand and left. I HATE public land.
I will not bow hunt again until our bowcamp Sept 29th thru Oct 5th. I think I will go shoot a hog this weekend...

We have it pretty good on public land around here during bow season.....If I see anybody in the woods before early muzzleloader, I'm shocked.
