Got up to the farm last weekend and got in my stand late Friday evening. The stand I was hunting wasn't really set up the best for bow hunting but wanted to see what was coming into the cotton field. 30 minutes after getting in my stand a big doe came out on the other side of the field edge and headed straight at me. At 13yrds I let the air out of her. She ran off the way she came and I saw her go go into the treeline she had come out of. I got down and checked the spot I shot her and found lots of stomach matter and no blood, not a goood thing. Figured I would give her atleast 3hrs before tracking her even though temps were in the 80's I didn't want to push her. About an hour later I walked around the edge of the field to where I last saw her thinking I would try to find exactly where she went into the treeline. As soon as I got to where I thought she went I found blood and looked ahead and there she laid maybe 10yrds away. What a relief. I guess the arrow must have deflected a little because the entry wound was perfect but it came out low and back and the exit hole was stopped up with intestines so I knew why I didn't find bloodfor a while.
