I decided to cook up a bunch of mushrooms I found here while back and while I was preparing them in the usual way I noticed a can of squirt cheese on the counter. Not wanting to ruin a whole batch I took a couple of the smaller ones and filled em full of the bacon chedder squeeze cheese and fried them up as usual. After one bite I was hooked.
Here's what I did;
I had about two dozen small gray morels that I cleaned and left whole. I added a touch of salt, just a hint of garlic powder (not garlic salt) and then inserted the tube of the squirt cheese into the stem and filled them full of cheese. After that I dredged them in flour and deep fried them in hot oil. The cheese inside will become very thin and try to run out of the pores and stem thats when I took them up.
Yall have GOT to try this...

That sounds great. I love cheese and I love the shrooms, but never thought of putting the two together. I didn't find a single one this year though.

It was a weird year for the shrooms. I found a good many grays and just when it was time that the big yellows should have come up we got that late freeze. Most people around here thought that there would be two harvests this year but I never found a single one after the freeze.
All in all I found probably 75 grays and around 25 yellows

I think the cold weather threw my timing off bad, I waited about a week too late before I even looked for any.

You guys are lucky.
If you eat a fungi down here you are either gonna see colors or die.
