Geeze....those are some big guns. I'd prolly go with the Redhawk, just cause I know more about the way they are built. Especially if you are loading your own stuff, I know that the cylinders can take tollerences that other handguns can't. I also know that, at least around here, .480 is easier to get than the .50 AE stuff.

thats what i am leaning towards . nope dont hand load would be to tempted to push the loads. one gun store has the ammo for both here. the 480 is 22 $ a box of 25 hornday the 50 is 38$ abox of 20 golddots.
you know i handeled the rh and as big as i am i could put that thing in a shoulder hoster and carry it conceld with a coat on...
would that be intemadating enough for cc? my wife says i am nuts to carry a conon as a cc.
realy it would be hog and deer hand gun.

The BFR is a stronger gun than the Ruger. If youve got the money Id probably opt for the BFR in a different caliber. Oh, and in SC you have to be under 11" total length for CC. My Desert Eagle is right at the limit.

well the money not that much differnce... cdnn investments has the 50 a 579 and the ruger at 479. the prices for theas to is why thoes cals are the choices. if i could spend a grand on the bfr it would be in 45-70 lol

lol 6 6 and over 400 lbs lol
actuyaly the bfr in 45-70 not realy that bad... the powder does not burn complatly and from people i talked to the 300 gr factory loads right at 1500 fps and the 405 right arond 1100.
well the 44 mag has some 300 gr loads that are hoter than 1100 fps. and in 42 oz gun vs 4 1/2 lbs gun .
but a bufflo bore 400 hard cast out of a contender will hurt........lol
