I recently found a great deal on a CVA Optima Elite chambered in .223 for $180, I thought it was a perfect deal being that I have been looking for a good varmint gun for quite some time. Plus I reload alot and it wouldn't cost much to reload for a .223, I was just wondering if anybody has heard anything about these guns and if yall think it would be a good buy. Everyone compares it to the TC Encore, but i want some real opinions on it.

i had a h and r a nd had some case sticking proplems with the 5.56 there a little higher presser than the 223

Ok, thank you. I think i'm going to buy it and see what I can get out of it. I reload alot, so I'm glad you told me that It actually crossed my mind to do that! I had a H&R in a .204 Ruger and it was a tack driver. I figured i could reload a .223 pretty hot, but I have never owned a .223, So I will let you know how it goes.

That's what I'm looking for out of one! I'm going to purchase one here in a couple weeks. I think it will be a good choice. I just can't spend a fortune on a TC Encore. The CVA is practically the same thing. Thanks for yalls info. I have a custom 25-06 that I hunt everything with and I just started reloading the Nosler Accubond 110 gr. bullet with 55gr of IMR 7828 and I shot 8 shots within 1/2 inch at 2 inches high at 100 yards. Nosler has great accuracy! I won't ever use another bullet!
