what do you think the best bullet weight is for the coman hand gun cals for defince? Are you in the slow heavy camp "230" for the 45 or the light fast 165 for the 45?
me i am mostly in the middel ground except for a few cals. 45--185 to 200 10mm 155-180 40 155 9mm 124
all full power loads.
now the excepts the 44 mag i use the 180 at around 1600 fps and the 357 mag and sig i like the 125. the lighter than the norm here is for less penetration. the stander 240 gr 44 will zip right through most people so will the 158-180 in the 357 mag. the 357 sig only maches the 357 mag when the 125 is used the hever loads slows it down to much for my likeing.

For my .40, I just get the cheap Winchester hollowpoint PD rounds from Walmart. If I cant kill 2 or 3 guys with 2 mags that hold 14 rounds each, I deserve to get robbed or shot.
In my .45s, I'm a bit more particular especially with the small one caause it only holds 6 rounds. I do keep an extra mag on me too, though.
I buy the 230 gr Hydra Shok for both my .45s.

me i like the idea of the bullet staying in. is one of the reasion i like the middle weight.
have you looked in to the powerballs for the 45? they seam like a nasty load. right now my 45 has the 230 gr +p starfire but its doing dubble duty as a truck gun for diffence and to take hogs if they show up in the hay filds
