Had a man book a hunt for his son's 12th birthday present a while back. Well yesterday was the birthday and tonight was the hunt. Dad showed up with the birthday boy and his sister and three of his lil cronies. Now I have some 4 ton bulk creep feeders out for calves, and I knew I could find a big hog around one of em. Sure enough, the first one we checked.....................a big smelly boar was having a midnight snack. The wind was howling while we made our stalk. We were almost in range and ol big boy decided he wanted to go over to the pond for a drink. We watched him walk plum out of sight, behind the dam. So we skirted the pond until we had a visual. The booger was laying down wallowing in the mud. I got Kendall set up on the shooting stick @ 40 yards and told him to squeeze one off on his neck. Now I was prepared to back him up and I had the .243wssm holding on his ear. Kendall fired and Ol Big never flenched. I walked back and got the Ranger Crew and the rest of the b-day party and drove over and pulled him out of the pond. Then it was picture time, here are a couple, see what ya'll think. Jed

Cool. I wish they'd let us legally hunt them at night here. Its fairly rare to see em in daylight.

Cool. I wish they'd let us legally hunt them at night here. Its fairly rare to see em in daylight. I understand the states opinion on night hunting, but this is when they prowl the most. Dusk and dawn are great times to hunt hogs, but they feel so secure @ night. And they are the most vulnerable @ night. Jed
