We are going out to the property to do some clucking. We are gonna get up early Saturday and see if we can get some response. My buddy is taking a crow call which I have never used but some folks swear by em.
We also have to cut a new lane and build a stand for it.
I see tons of turkeys around the property just none on it.
My season does not start until the following weekend and I'll prolly go every weekend til it's over.

Clucking??? I would not use any turkey calls at all until the season starts.
Listen before it gets light, while they are still on the roost. Owl and coyote calls at this time of the day should let you know where they are.
I heard my first gobbling last week while at the Lake.

I like "roosting" them with a owl call late in the evening. If you know the area well it makes it a lot easier to set up on them in the morning.
Good luck Jeff...........Hope you fill your tags.

Roosting them just makes for a sleepless night. ;D Up until just a few years ago, I never really had much success setting up early on them. That has changed somewhat as of late though.

Hunting public land here roosting them is almost useless. Half the birds are call shy weeks before the season....
