I'm not going anywhere today. It's still 20 degrees here and a 1/2 inch of ice on everything.

Monday night we got a little ice. They were saying we would get it all day yesterday and it poured the rain all day at 34 degrees, but atleast we didn't get the ice.
Now get this.......When I got up this morning at 4:45 it was 67 degrees! It has rained all day and now it is 33 and snowing.

We have 2" of ice since Monday night and zero melt off. We lost power Tuesday afternoon and not sure when it will be back on. I have enough firewood to last another day but by tomorrow morning I'll be out. The good thing is that there are trees down EVERYWHERE so I guess I'll go cut some out of my yard this afternoon and burn green wood. We have enough lanterns to light the place, a Coleman stove to cook on, and our water heater is gas so I think we will make it.

They are saying 5 days to 2 weeks, depending on location.
I just talked to my father-in-law. He has a generator he is running at his place but has about 3 ricks of wood he is going to let me have. I'll go get a truck load today after work.

Even though it is great here in SE KY, only one of my siblings has power ( and I have 7 brothers and sisters) My parents are also w/out power. They are all in central KY and it may be 2 wks before they get it back on.
