No way it should be considered fair chase even if it was on public land.
If the guy had the money to buy the Governor's license and pay these people to basically watch the elk's every move, he had the money and time to invest all the effort himself.........IMO he's not a hunter at all.

Still a fair chase kill no matter how you look at it.His wallet was just thicker than others and was able to afford the help. Kudos to him on a magnificent elk.
We have a similar hunt here in Alberta.Two bighorn sheep tags and two bull elk tags.One tag for each goes to the highest bidder and one tag of each goes into the hat for a draw for resident hunters.The lucky hunter who draws the Premiers tag gets to hunt in any W.M.U. after all the seasons are closed.They do not have to compete with any other hunters at a chance to take a trophy animal.

Yep......I agree with Blue on this one.
I had a simular arguement with SH where I was on the other side a couple of years ago.

I'll not debate this subject........I'd more than likely end up on the losing end. Anyways, no doubt it will be a record that stands many years.

Think about how many hunters are WAY pissed off about this guy.
