Finally, I got my first coyote in a trap. I have been able to snare them, but this is the first one in a trap. I had the trap set on a 2 track road. I had a dirthole, with some homebrew bait that I made up. I think he was caught just minutes before I got there. There was very little disturbed around the set. Im either getting this figured out, or I caught the dumbest coyote in the woods. ;D So far, I trapped 6 big coon, 8 skunks, and this coyote since season opened.

Does being a cop in the UP not pay enough to buy shirts? You are looking scraggly boy! Congrats on the trapping.

Nice yote. You might have covered this before, but how do you go about skinning the skunks?

Those pics are making me miss my days of trapping (well, except for the skunk part).
Congrats.

Nitro, the easiest way that I have found, I give them to an old timer who skins them, and extracts the essence. ;D If it can get any easier than that, I want to know about it. Maybe have him come take them out of the trap? ;D

You know I was thinking... Well wondering. Why are the coons and deer so much bigger up there, but the yotes seem to be about the same size? Oh, and by the looks of the square missing from the shirt it looks like someone ran out of TP.

I'll never tell on the shirt DS. ;D ;D
This is a young coyote. Usually they are alot bigger than this. Hopefully I will get another one soon, of bigger size, so you can see how much bigger they are.
