At 10am Friday, I am headed to camp for our annual bow camp. Looks like the weather just may cooperate this year. Seeing lots of deer running around, and I got most of the skunks cleaned out from around the cabin. Hopefully the arrows fly straight. I'll have pics of some sort to post when I get back.

I am now back from camp. Nothing real exciting to report. I went to camp with intentions of shooting only a doe. Getting a doe should be easy, right? Well, all I seen was bucks!!!! The state just instituted an antler restriction on bucks for the U.P. of Michigan. You can still shoot 2 bucks, but they have to have 3pts on one side or bigger for the first tag, and 4pts on one side or bigger for the second buck. That is completely great with me. I saw bucks, the biggest was under the 3pts on a side.
I did however get to see a beautiful 10pt get killed. I was going to check traps, and I saw a small buck on the road. I slowed down. Then the very big buck come running across the road, and the guy that was behind me, in a big hurry, decide to pass me. I missed the buck, he peeled it. Worst part about it, it was a VERY short distance from my stand.
My brother, and a buddy each shot a doe, one of the other guys had the same problem as me, only bucks came in. Still had a great time, so the trip was a success. I still have 6 days off to trap, and maybe get back into a treestand.
