I like the ladder stands myself anywhere between 16 and 20 feet. I don't mind hunting from a good natural ground blind either.

Out of those I like a climber. Probably average 20-25'. I like to just flop on the ground with my back against a tree too, not really a ground blind...

bow hunting - climber or homemade lock-on/steps
gun hunting - pound the ground unless hunting the fields, then its same as above.

Lock on, about 20-24 feet suits me good.

I'm just a deer hunter for the jerky. I like comfortable home made ladder stand. When I hunted for horns it was a climber all the way.

I hunt from most of those, but I prefer to keep my butt on the ground. Usually around here I can get on a steep area over looking a flat. My best bow stand is on the ground above where 2 old logging roads meet. I am still 8-10' above the deer for a 10 yard shot.

I just had my old man stand stolen. I left it on the tree to bowhunt smack dab in the middle of our property. I went to get it yesterday and it was gone. I have a good idea who it was that got it.

That sucks. That happened to Jamie's Old Man too. Had to go a mile into a pasture, then into the patch of oaks in the middle to get to it, aint like someone just stumbled into it...

I like my Summit Goliath comfy and quite. I usually try to be around 20ft off the ground.
