Wasnt raining this AM. Ran some pigs off walking to where I was going to climb, heard em bail off into the river... At about 735 I decided I didnt like how high I was and needed to climb more, I had stopped climbing when I heard the pigs grunting on their way back... Climbed higher and got turned to the left of where I had been looking due to limbs. At 755 I saw something coming out of the gully in front of me. When it stopped at 6yds I put a Maxim arrow with a Black Mumba broadhead behind it's left shoulder, it hit the opposite shoulder and didnt get full penetration. I climbed down at around 850 found a lot of blood and texted mike. He said he was on the way so I walked to where I had shot the doe yesterday and found my pull up rope. Walked back to the tree I climbed today and waited on mike, decided to take my stand off the tree and put the bow down. Heard something behind me and thought it was mike... Turned around and there was a 16 or 17" 7 point standing about 15' behind me! Got an arrow out of my hip quiver, picked up my bow, and almost had it nocked when he saw me and spooked off. He never ran so I think he just saw something out of place.
