THIS WOULD BE A GOOD ONE FOR THE ''MYTH BUSTERS''. AN OLD TIMER WHO HAS HUNTED TURKEYS ALL HIS LIFE( SO HE SAYS) TOLD ME THIS AND IN SOME WAYS IT SEEMS TO MAKE SENSE AND IN OTHER WAYS IT SEEMS WAY OUT THERE SO HERE GOES. IF YOU HAVE A TOM ROOSTED AND YOU'RE A LITTLE LATE GETTING THERE(and I dare anybody to say that's never happened to me), THE TOM IS STILL IN THE TREE BUT HE'LL BE ON THE GROUND BEFORE YOU CAN GET INTO POSITION, THE OLD MAN SAID USE A COYOTE CALL AND THEN MAKE YOUR APROACH FROM THE OPPISITE DIRCTION. THE OLD MAN SAYS THE YOTE CALL WILL DO TWO THINGS. #1 KEEP THE TOM ON THE ROOST LONGER(giving you time to circle around him) AND #2 WHEN HE DOES FLY DOWN HE'LL GO AWAY FROM WHERE HE HEARD THE COYOTE, THUS TOWARD YOUR SET UP. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT THE DOWN SIDE TO THIS WAS THAT THE TOM WILL MOST LIKELY GO SILENT. EVEN THOUGH HE'LL COME TO YOUR CALLS, HE PROBIBLY WON'T BE GOBBLIN. SO THERE IT IS FELLERS WHAT DO YA THINK? IS IT POSSIBLE OR BULLS#*% ? I'VE HEARD SOME DOOZIES OVER THE YEARS THIS IS THE FIRST ONE I'VE HEARD THAT SOUNDED JUST AS CRAZY AS IT DID LOGICAL.

I can neither confirm nor deny this claim.
But after the last two years that I have had I may learn how to howl like a coyote.

The yote calls are a shock call, Like a peacock call... They will gobble at it just cause its a loud noise and it excites em. Hard to say about them heading the other way. You nor them know where that yote is heading after he howls once...
