Spent the day yesterday making sure the rifles (and myself) are in top form and shooting the bows to stay in tune for our elk hunt in Sept. The old 7 mag is still shooting a tight group, first two shots cut each other and the third always an inch off at a 100 yards.Shooting 3 inches high at a 100 yards,I'll hold dead on at anything to 300 yards.Ended the shoot popping a rock out past 400 yards. We use a rock that's almost as big as an elks body,I'll hold at the top of the rock and hit it center.I use a Harris bipod for this.
Now I've got to sit at the bench and load a few boxes for the season, plus load for my nephew and a freind of mine who shoot 30-06's.
Got a weekly update on the elk on the ranch we'll be hunting, still over a 100 head feeding in his alphalfa daily.Really looking forward to this hunt.
