She had a Heart Attack today. Luckily dad was around when she started feeling bad and called the ambulance. They said if he had called 5 min later she would be dead. Dad said they were on the way back from getting grandma's prescriptions filled and she said she was nauseous. A little piece down the road she told him to get her back to grandma's quick. After they got there he said she kept getting worse and her heart rate dropped to 33bpm.. They said her heart stopped over 18 times while they were trying to put a stint in. They had to shock her that many times and ended up putting a pacemaker on while they did it. It is out now, but she has a balloon pumping blood for her heart. They are going to take it out tomorrow and see how things go. My head is so F'ed up right now you wouldnt believe...

Its still not all good. They took out the balloon and all was well, but she wouldnt wake up. After several hours they sent her for a CT scan and found out she has a bleed in her brain, like in the middle... They said it was caused by the blood thinner they used for putting in the stints. Said they had never seen it in anyone as young (51) as her. After the neurosurgeon looked everything over he said if he did nothing she would die, Her platelets were low and if they added them it could kill her, and if she lived through it they would put a drain in her head for the leakage. Said they wouldnt be able to get the blood out, but would drain the cerebral fluid for her brain to be able to swell. When I left the HP a little after midnight they had just got done with all that and said she was doing ok... They wont know anything until after she wakes up, but have no idea when that may be. They said she can either die, be in a vegetated state, or wake up. Hopefully she wakes up... They said then it will all depend on if/how much brain damage she has.

She lived through what they had said would probably kill her so Im still hoping and praying for the best... Today before we had to leave at 9 she was able to squeeze whichever hand you told her to and is nodding or shaking her head to questions. She was in CICU #3 on the 4th floor then after the drain was put in they moved her to ICU #4 on the 4th floor, which was the room my Grandma Smith was in last week when they said she was going to most likely die... What are the damn odds on that?
By the way, Grandma Smith is home and doing well. I stopped by there yesterday on the way to the Hospital.
Yall dont know how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers right now... I think Ive cried more in the last week or so than I have in my whole life...

Thanks yall, I cant believe I didnt update this yesterday. They pulled the breathing tube yesterday and she was able to talk some! She can actually follow what you are saying and can recognize people she hasnt seen in a long time. My aunt from New Mexico is here, and mom knew who she was. She hasnt been here in 8 years.

I talked to dad when I was on the way to work last night. He said they gave her mashed taters, greenbeans, and chicken! I couldnt believe they would step right up to "real" food. He said she took the fork away from him when he was trying to feed her. They left the drain in though, they just clamped it off. Said they wanted to make sure no pressure built up before they pulled it.
