We're going to Fishpond. I like going to Carr Creek, but they're always hitting something I don't have. From what I saw last year at Fishpond trout Powerbait is a pretty good bet. They seem to be a little bigger up there too.

This time of the year we always fished from a boat w/ lights late at night. I haven't fished there in awhile.
Let me know how the camping is up there. I'm on the Parks and Rec council and we're trying to get everything back in good shape. Fishpond is a great area, but it's difficult to keep in good shape.
There is a fishing pier up there now at the dam.

We camped up there three or four times last year........It makes for a good weekend getaway. I've never caught a fish up there before dark!

The only time I have caught fish during the day is early spring (Feb. Mar) on the pretty days. We casted from the dam w/ double hook rigs w/ a sliding sinker, but using either marshmallow or power bait to get it off the bottom a foot or two.
Have fun and good luck.

We had a great time. Outlaw brought home his limit (8) trout and skunked me, so I'd say I'll stick to carp fishing from now on. ;D I think I quit fishing about the time they started biting!
thunderstorm, the pier is awesome. If you can get on the end it's almost as good as being on a boat.

Well, how did he catch them...just in case??? What time?? He used mostly the orange powerbait, but we had the rainbow, orange and yellow(corn flavored) The one time in my life that I didn't take a can of corn and there was several people catching their limit on it. They started biting around 10:00 and kept it up until around midnight.

Thanks Nitro.
Were you all fishing from the bank, pier, or boat?
Maybe I'll try my luck. Haven't been up there in awhile.

Yeah, we were on the left side on the very end of the pier. It's pretty deep out there on the end and you can pretty much use a lantern over the water like you would on a boat.
