Hi All, Changed the plugs on the Cherokee this morning and what a PIA that was. #1 you have to pull a rad hose out of the way but #6 sheesh between wiring and the trans dip stick. Sure miss my 3/8" drive stuff. Some little dirtball sprung the rented garage door ans swiped my toll box with everything in it Using some of Dad's old 1/2" drive stuff made it hard work and now I remember why I brought the 3/8" drive rachets and stuff when I worked on cars. Also these are the first plugs I ahve changed in about 12 years. Been running diesels until getting the Cherokee. Also fitted a new air filter and it seems to idel more smoothly now wiht the new plugs and filter. Turns out the cheapskates I brought ti off just took the dirty filter out and binned it without putting one in at all . She has just clocked over the 90,000 mark yesterday and runs sweet ;D.

If you think that was a bitch try changing them in a 89 1 ton V8 ford van or a 78 V8Nova.

Hi There, Hmmm I have done some "difficult" stuff in the past as I used to work and be a supervisor in a Kwik-Fit center. You know Tyres, exhausts, shocks and some servicing and some of the newer vehicles are really daft the way they are put together Yeah I know it's done to make it harder for the home mechanic and so you will take it to your :- Friendly Local dealer Now changing the plugs on my old Triumph Dolomite 1500 is a cinch. It's a 77 4 dr with real wood trim inside and it only has something like 43,000 on the clock from new. I have not used it sine 99 but it will be back on the road for the spring after I get it ready. Needs a new rear section of exhaust, new brakes on the front, shocks on the rear and a bottom bush replaced on the N/S front shock and a new door mirror that I know of Oh then I got to change the oil anf ilter of course and give it a sevice including changing the anti freeze as it's a bit old now. Might change the hoses whilst I am at it after all they are the originals so a little bit on the old side. Must get a phot of it soon. Small by your standards but it's good on petrol even with twin SU's which are std.
