Hi All, Thank you, I took a bunck of pictures on te Olympus digital that I have, and I will put up more some time in the future. It sure is one hellva place to hunt, they even have Bobcat though I only saw fresh tracks. Beaver in the Creek and i also saw a pair of bald eagles which are not common there due to no large bodies of water being near by ;D couldn't get a nice picture of them thoug, the one chance I had I blew it, the camera was in my day pack and not switched on Flhuntress, no the Turkeys never saw me in my ladder stand, the pictures are taken from about 120 yards away with zoom on! You might not notice it but in the copper coloured tree picture, there is a ladder stand on the tree at the point of the woodline. It's to the right of the picture about 1/3 of the way in, that's Patricks stand and is about 600 yards form the one I was in, looking across to the left of the picture.

Nice pics!
Which Olympus? I've looked into them and they are a bit pricey but if it takes pics like that @ 120 yrds its worth it!

Hi All, I brought the Olmpus CZ2100UZ, they dropped this from the line, I think it was too expensive, it's not a compact either being the size and shape of an SLR 35mm, in fact I use a 35mm case to carry and protect it It has a long lens on it which has 10x optical Zoom and then a further 2.7x digital which you can add together and as it has image stabilisation you can even take pictures free hand on max zoom, and when you look through the viewfinder you see what the lens is seeing just like the SLR's. Drawbacks are it's size at times although it's a good hand hold like the SLR's and that it's only a 2.1 Mega pixel. I have had it some time now and yes it was expensive, bear in mind most things cost more here in the UK, this I got discounted by searching the internet then getting a local place to price promise/match the price ;D yet it still cost me $1000. Since I brought it I have taken loads of pictures, in fact I had to get a re-writer for the computer to free up some disc space ;D as an example I have 823 pictures on my Picturetrail account In looks it's like the Minolta Dimage7 I think it is, which again looks an SLR camera.

Hi All, We were in Sullivan County up by the northern borders, nearest town was Milan if I remember right, here are a few more pictures from the trip:- The fork horn trotted by quite early opening morning. My 9 pont buck appeared sneaking out of the point of timber behind about noon the following day. I watched him go and took shots of him until he spotted the infa red focusing beam and spooked Like so ;D And I shot the 9 pointer about here. He ran a few yards and fell by this tree. Here is a 10 point shot by my host mid week. Not all of it is open, this is down by the creek where I shot my Doe A good sized one as well, this is after we dragged her out of the thicket.

I'm going to ask a stupid question. Why didn't you Field Dress that Doe before you drug her out?
I like hunting around the Central part of the state around Cooper County, but I mostly hunt around the house in Dallas County.

i can't speak for him but where i hunt you have to bring them back intact so they get actual weights....plus i don't like how the meat gets all yucky when you're draggin'.

I gut them where they fall and don't get "yucky" meat.
The biologist should know what a field dressed deer weights to begin with.
I'm sorry but I'm glad we don't have to go thru game checks everytime we shoot something. There are mandatory reports required on some game animals but they only have to be reported within 30 days of the kill and it's a verbal thing, you don't have to bring in the animal.

Hi All, It's quite simple why we dragged the Doe out, it was just too damn tight in those saplings plus it's a lot easier if the deer is hung up as all the innerds fall out nice and easy, and I like easy trouble is this Doe was just to darned heavy to haul up on the branch I was initialy after a youngster as that is what i saw first but it kept moving slowly getting those saplings in the way, as I lined her up in the sights this head suddenly appeared looking straight at me so I swung onto her neck quick and dropped her before she busted me! all I saw of her until she fell forward was the head and neck
