Tape a 35mm film canister to an old arrow shaft. Place 2-3 cottonballs in canister. Add your favorite cover or attractant scent. Place around your stand when hunting. When you leave, just put caps on & take with you.
You can also paint the arrow shafts different colors & place them at designated distances from your stand as yardage markers.

I've used the film canisters before but never thought of using the arrows as yardage markers.

where was this tip back in july and august when i was out markin' my distances....now i've got a rangefinder but still an awesome idea...thanks for sharing.
