I have made wine its relitivly easy. i have a buddy that makes beer though. he actualy the one that got me to making wine.
any way there are a few tip that i know.
#1 the bigest thing it to keep every thing clean and coverd. to keep bactiera out. bad wine or beer can make you wear out your bath room qucikly.
and with some of thoes bugs they wont show up in the tast or smell.
#2 keep the beer "after bottling" during the second fermtation "carbination" in a cool dark place. where to much pressur wont build up.
a non used bath tub could be a good place in case to much pressur biuls up due to the pressur can brak the bottle so its less messy.
the food network should have some beer making info includiong resipeys.
eltion brown from the show "good eats" did a beer making show that walks you through all the steps so you might be able to find some thing there,

I make beer. You can get everything that you need from The Home Brewery. The have a website, and they are excellent to deal with. Making beer is fun, and addictive. I just finished up drinking my last 6yr old batch the other day. Damn that stuff is good when aged. What kind of kit did you get?

I used to and just got too lazy to do it anymore.
Good cappable bottles are a pain to come by. Gaurd them jealously. I mostly used Corona bottles.
You cannot get the bottles too clean. You will also learn to rinse them out as you drink the stuff so cleaning them is easier.
In addition to keeping the bottles in a cool dark place while fermenting for fizz, I had better results by putting my sugur dirrectly in each bottle. I think I used a table spoon full or atleast a regular spoon. I found by doing this each bottle got the right amount of sugar where as if you put it in the batch it may not get evenly mixed. Bottles with too much kick are a bummer bro.
Most homebrew horror stories come from either contamination or not working it off enough in the second fermentation. Green homebrew makes exlax look like a constapative.
If you want to get bold and go for some strong stuff champagne yeast will tolerate a higher level of alcohol.

Was that dericted towards me?
If so i was not a cop at the time i started that was a hobbey after i got hurt.
+ i was a brewer not a boot legger to be a boot leager you have to sell it or make hard achol such as moon shine.
you can not leaglely make shine with out a brewers licens. but you may make up 200 gal. of wine and 500 gals of beer for persional use per year completly leagly in most states.
In some states the amount of gallons per year may very.
"just pointing out i was with in all loacal and fed. laws while i was doing it."

Good cappable bottles are a pain to come by. My dad used Grolsch (sp) beer bottles when he whent through a phase of beer making. They have a resealable ceramic cap wired to the bottle. Very cool looking. Besides, emptying the bottles is nice since this is a high quality German beer. ;D A little pricy, but saves in the long run (no caps to buy). Should be able to find it at a better liquor store.

Ewwwwwwwwwww Grolsch! Man I would rather not have a beer than drink that stuff. It's actually dutch I think and like every hollander beer I've ever tried it weren't fit to drink. The bottles would be perfect though no doubt.

Yup Grolsch is from Holland with the ceramic stoppers with the rubber gasket on a wire bail. This is actually a decent Pilsner with a heavy taste of hops. SH I warn you now bud. You are making the nectar of the gods. (If ya dispute I will drag up the obscure religous refferences ) The stuff you make will have body and flavor not that watered down swill for mass consuption .
