in your area or that you could easily drive to hunt?
There are dove in most parts of the state...mourning dove, whitewings, and Eurasian collared dove. We've got Bobwhite and blue quail, prairie chickens (no season for them though), and pheasant in the panhandle and parts of southeast Tx.

They have about anything you can think of about 10 miles up the road. Its all pen raised though. You see all kinds of stuff flying around here where they dont get killed when set loose. Ive seen a lot of Pheasant but they say its too warm here for them to breed?

Dang, Blue. You really oughta move someplace with some stuff to shoot at. Some of the birds you listed, I wouldn't know them if they flew up my pants leg. DS, I've thought about hunting a preserve like that. Some of them offer year round shooting which would be good for the dog in the off season. And if they're within an hour or two of me, I might spend less to go get after them than driving 4 hours, motel, meals, beverages, etc...

Dove and quail. We have a couple places to hunt the pen raised/released birds but it cost an arm and leg to hunt them.
