We have been seeing more and more of late. Me and Jamie saw a covey walking through the oak hollow the other day. Maybe they are starting to make a comeback around here?

Hopefully so. Tx Parks & Wildlife has put together seminars all over the state to educate landowners on how to improve habitat on their property. Pretty early to see results yet, but they all saw the $ they could make leasing to deer hunters so maybe it'll make a difference.
Still hard to convince a rancher that he shouldn't plant all that coastal. It's hard to remember that the quail are happy when they're buying hay they could've grown & cut themselves.

We had to stop and let two hens and rooster cross the road just outside of neighborhood last month. I pray for the return of wild quail everyday. There is nothing better in this world then hunting wild quail behind a German Shorthair.
