Been busy moving back in to an apartment in Athens the last few weeks and havent had the internet. . . got it for now but its still kind of sketchy. Anyways. . . with the big hassle of moving and school starting back it seems that i have not noticed that the early goose season has been moved up 2 weeks. . . that puts it at next weekend! I havent had my fields scouted, dont know what the birds are doing, dont even know if my fields are cut?? As of now it looks like it's going to be a sad early opener.

School is okay, got fridays off this semester so it's alright. Got the home game tix in hand, picked them up this week. As for the birds. . . . well it has snuck up on me. . . was hot on the phone all day today. . . my big corn fields (and i had several hundred acres worth this year) have not been cut. . . they'll be cut in 2 weeks. . . which will put the geese finding them about the time the early season comes to a close. Got everybody around the house glassing my usual spots. . . hopefully someone will come through tomorrow. I'll be looking for new spots in the morning here around school (keep your fingers crossed) then off to trim limbs away from my bow hunting spots. It's going to take a mad streak of luck to be in the mix this year with the honkers. . .

Got really good news today from home, alot of luck still needed though. . . . but a field has been found w/ tons of birds! No birds to speak of around here but the bow hunting spots are shaping up well!

I'll hit Clarks Hill Saturday morning before I have to go open the cigar store. I don't know of any corn fields around here. All they want to plant is cotton around here anymore.

They dont flip flop? Here they do cotton one year and soybeans the next. They say cotton is hell on the soil.
