If you want a goose hunt, the Texas panhandle is the place to go. I bet I saw over a million geese out there over the last 4-5 days. Of course, I left the goose gun at the house but I hunted them there the last 2 years and it's a sure shoot. 2 years ago, I limited out on darks in about 30 minutes and got tired of trying to call in lights but got 11 of them. The panhandle is a goose hunters paradise!!

Bro,
Let's hook it up!! Get to Dallas, we drive to Lubbock (bout 5 1/2 hours), stay with my in-laws (VERY cool people) and do a day hunt somewhere. I can find a guide for prolly $100-$125 each a day. Limit is 3 darks and it was 25 for lights and I think it's still 25. We'll put them birds on dry ice and ship em back to GA. I'll see if Go wnats to get in on this deal.
Anyone else wanna go? Let me know.

Or even better,
My wife's company has a brand new 3200 sq. ft. house in Lubbock we can stay in. (forgot about that). If we stay there we can have some beers, if we stay with the in-laws, we'll be wishin we had beers.

The panhandle is in the Western zone and this year it runs through Feb. 3. There is a conservation season that starts Feb. 4-Mar. 28 but I've never hunted them that late. I would think that the shooting is very good through the end of Jan. I can call some guides and ask them. When do you want to come? 04 or 05 season?

I might be able to sneak out in '04. I've got to take the wife gambling in the next month or so but I think I can squeeze both, maybe.

How much for the licenses? I obviously have my Federal Duck Stamp. It looks like a 14-15 hour drive or a $300 dollar flight from Atlanta to DFW.
Also I can only do it during the week. I'm working weekends from now until the end of January. Well I'll be taking off the Friday and Saturday for the end of our deer season Jan. 10. The 5-9 of Jan. would be great.
I'm at work and just trying to get some data from you. I'll call you tonight when I get home.
