His waders are torn, and my light is broke... He just had on boots and I had a flashlight. The dogs treed in a beaver pond. We decided I would go get them since I had on my hip waders. I got his light and headed off. The water got right over the top of the waders on the way in. I leashed the dogs(Mike's black and tan, Huckleberry, and Lady my walker) and was standing in water a little over my knees. I am 90+% sure I seen the coon stretched out on a limb. Then I got the dogs and was heading back to Jamie. Thats when it happened. I stepped in a nipple deep hole! Man that sucked. The water in a beaverpond in SC in march is COLD. Not to mention its about 40* out tonight. I really wished I wasnt waering his light. On a good note, lady was barking at the tree some. Jamie said it was about the most she has barked so far. She is finally figuring out they climb. She was running back and forth sniffin on the tree when I got there.

How much does a pair of waders weigh when they're full of water? Sounds like she is getting the hang of it now. She'll be a good tree dog before you know it.

Now every duckhunter knows to carry a stick to check the water depth in front of them when wading, especially in a beaver pond. But y'all were coon hunting so I guess that don't apply, huh? ;D Get you a broom handle next time before you go and make a sling for it out rope so you can carry it on your shoulder like a rifle. It sounds like your dogs are working out pretty good.
