NEED HELP. I went to a post season hunt at warwoman WMA this weekend as I have for the last 4 years. I have been hunting for 25 years and never went through what i did this time. PETA showed up and harassed us the whole time, screaming, walking through the woods and such. This was done only on one road. ON Sunday myself, a friend with me and his son were the only ones to return. At 8 am they started again. This time they were sneaking in the woods video taping us. At this point we convinced them to leave us alone the only way we knew how to. Throughout the weekend I had tried to notify a game warden and I also wrote a detailed account of what was occurring and asked to have it stopped I placed this at the check station. A game warden finally showed up Sunday afternoon as we were leaving the woods wanting me to give him the details. This should of happened 2 days prior. I sent an email to GON explaining what happened. What else can I do? It sad when you have to knock someone out and scare others just to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

It isn't that just like a game warden? They'll be all over your dovefield checking licenses and looking for bait but where are they when you need them to do their job? You did the only thing you could do, it's darn shame the DNR couldn't help you when you needed them.

This happened to me a few years back. I just let them follow me about 2 miles into the swamp. i then jumped the creek and said have a good day getting back to your cars. i noticed they had not worn the proper footwear lol. flat country and pine woods can be a tricky situation if ya dont know your way around. it is a shame though that you cant even hunt without getting hassled by city slickers

Ya know.....the more I think about this, the more it pisses me off.
They are nothing more than eco-terrorists. That's it. What do they REALLY contribute to their cause? I mean, is their only effort spookin animals that a hunter in EVERY state has the legal right to hunt or throwing paint on someone who payed to wear a fur or to destroy a research facility? What a bunch of P*U*S*S*I*E*S!!!
I donate a considerable amont of money every year to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Federation to ensure that those species are taken care of and so that our grandchildren will be able to enjoy them as well. I'll bet the rest of my salary for the year that MOST PETA activist don't donate a damn dime to any such cause for the preservation of non-domesticated animals.

UPDATE; I spoke with the editor of GON and explained in detail of what happened. He was just as angry as the rest of us and promised to do all that was possible. I researched these fanatics and they are just fools. Its hard to believe that so many people could be that screwed up. When reading some of their beliefs I would get so mad that I had to stop. Also only 1 percent of the money raised by these uneducated, misguided misinformed, misfits is used toward helping animals.

Heh......I rest my case. Stan, in Texas, it's a FELONY to harrass hunters while they are hunting.
