is supposed to sunset on September 13 2004. No more silly restrictions on so called 'assault weapons'.
I always thought it was funny that a 308 caliber rifle with a bayonnett lug & pistol grip was any more deadly than a 308 caliber rifle with a monte carlo stock.

All right what gonna git now? I'll probably wait a year for the prices to come back down but an AR-15 will had. I'll have to reconsider my pistol selection for the store now too.

One of the women I work with was asking my opinion on this yesterday. She supports the ban because she doesn't know why anyone would need an "assault" weapon.
She went on to tell me that she's not anti-gun and she even owns one. I asked her what kind...
It's a Mossberg 500 Persuader with the pistol grip and 8-shot magazine. 7 rounds of 00 because she doesn't leave one chambered. She's a mid-50's widow and she feels safer with it next to her bed.
BUT, she supports the gun ban and banning handguns too.

It is up to those that dig deeper & know the whole story to get the whole truth out there. Back it up with verifiable facts (the NRA website is loaded with them. Be calm & pleasant (like Tom Selleck when confronted by Rosie O'Donnell). Unlike the 'mainstream media' would have you believe, 'average America' is not anti gun. They are neutral or undecided. It is up to us to convince them that guns & gun owners are OK. |

It was a calm discussion. I was just blown away that she could be so hypocritical when she owns one of the guns that the gun grabbers want to start with.
Hey, frankly I don't have/spend the money on guns to go buying an AR, SKS, or AK, - but if that's what flips someone's switch then git 'er done.
I need a new deer rifle and I'd love an over & under for my birdhunting. Also got my eye on a S&W 686, but as far as BAR, Mini 14, etc...I wouldn't use them and I'd hate to have to feed them.
