Let's see here...oil averaging $45/barrel, mideastern morons teasing us with turning the taps on & off, terrorists realizing that our stock market lives and dies with the fluctuation in oil prices...
Yea, I'd say it's about time we started drilling more at home. We allow logging in those same areas, so why not drilling? Let's set up the rules to minimize the long-range environmental impact and tap our own resources.
It's ridiculous that we depend on the rest of the world for our oil. Let's take it a step further and drill the ANWR and keep more of our money in our pocket.
Don't forget that Yahoo is more than happy to show the liberal view to whatever issue they report. I've emailed them several times and I always get the same reply. They say that they don't write the stories on their site. I always reply that they dang sure have control on the ones they decide to show us. The discussion usually stops there.

I'd have to say this is a good thing, without question. Our whole economic system is based on petroleum products. Let's not make ourselves any more dependent on these Arab dictatorships than we have to.
