FEINSTEIN INTRODUCES "ASSAULT WEAPONS" REAUTHORIZATION BILL Yesterday, vehemently anti-gun Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) introduced S. 2498, legislation that would reauthorize the Clinton gun ban. The bill is being held on the Senate floor and could come up at any time. This is the start of a sustained political battle we`ll be waging over the next few months. Our opponents will continue to work at every turn to try and accomplish their anti-gun goals, and we need to be prepared. Please visit NRA-ILA`s informative website-- www.ClintonGunBan.com --and learn the facts about this debate, which has too long been driven and dominated by falsehoods and emotion. And please forward this website to others who need to know both the history and the truth about this issue. Then, please contact your Senators and urge them to oppose S. 2498 or any other legislation seeking to extend the so-called "assault weapons" ban. You can find contact information for your elected officials by using the "Write Your Representatives" tool at www.NRAILA.org, or you can call your U.S. Senators at (202) 224-3121.

Did you know that she has a permit to carry?
That's right. She says she is a senator and needs the protection.

You see it's the arrogance of these Liberals that galls me the most. How these people that vote for Democrats fall for this blather about the Dems are looking out for the little guy?

Here is a copy of the email I sent to my Senators:
As your constituent, I strongly urge you to oppose legislation that seeks to re-authorize or expand the Clinton gun ban. As a law-abiding citizen, I feel semi-automatic firearms ban has had no effect on crime 7 should be allowed to end as the current law provides. Even The Washington Post, which editorialized in favor of the "assault weapons" ban, sees through the phony "assault weapons" issue. Two days after the 1994 "assault weapons" ban passed, the Post admitted, "Assault weapons play a part in only a small percentage of crime. The provision is mainly symbolic; its virtue will be if it turns out to be, as hoped, a stepping stone to broader gun control."
Since then, a study mandated by Congress, a follow-up study, federal surveys, and police reports have shown that these guns are rarely used in crime. The claim that criminals often use the guns is incorrect and contradicts the facts.
It is time for Congress to accept the truth and send this law to the legislative graveyard. Congress must turn its attention from cosmetic gun bans toward insisting that existing laws against violent criminals be effectively enforced.
I again encourage you to oppose current legislation to extend the assault weapons ban by 10 years (S.2498). I thank you for your consideration on this matter, and would appreciate it if you would inform me of your position on these bills.
