I am working on a renovation of 52 duplex housing units. For this job anything purchesed is tax free to "stimulate the economy". Notice wages ain't tax free and the contractors are buying what they normally would and loving it.
Kerry is a piece of we all know what, but I swear Bush is hurting us terribly in the long run in so many ways.

We gonna have to hold our nose when we vote in November. Just keep reminding yourself that we are in a war and that Kerry ain't no commander in chief material.
Besides that job that you're on probably wouldn't have happened in the contractor didn't get this tax break, right?
Also keep in mind that government jobs are one of the few places left for union electricians to get paid union scale in the south. My nephew is in IBEW Local 1579 and has had to work in New York and New Jersey for the last two years just so he could work.

Shorthair this project would have been done anyway. I worked at this housing projects last year putting in watermeters. These have been empty and slated for renovation for a few years. The contractors would have bid on it anyway. I don't see any of them buying more stuff than usual becuase of the tax break.
Also this so far is a 100% rat job. I doubt there will be any union contractors on it. I am working for my non-union employerer again waiting for my number to come up. Which looks like it will around Christmas or so during hunting season.
I refuse to hold my nose either. I will vote for third party. I don't like Bush but let me say I total despise Kerry.

Well it is stimulating the local economy after all. Seems the bandits have hit at night and stripped every bit of copper wire out of the place. Which bites because we were going to get it when we cut through the conduits trenching the floors for the plumbing.
With no fence and no security I suspect the local economy will be stimulated further. These idiots keep talking about 'once they get the doors back on'. Yeah bub they just will take the new door with them on their way out. To go with their new tub, toilet and sink.

There's some kind of sub-contracted labor thing with the Mexicans with the general contractor thats kind of fishy. HUD has already shut them down on demo over a possible lead abatment situation.
Ahhh well its entertaining atleast.
