pretty much the same thing as a primary. the "winner" of the caucuses, gets to be the democrats opponent to george bush in the next election. since iowa is the first in the nation to have theirs, that means we get out state flooded with a bunch of nerds and geeks. all of whom will forget this state, and every promice they have made to the people here. basically just a bunch of suits, whoring themselves for votes, to try to be the leader of the most corrupt business in the world

Don't hold back buddy, tell us how you really feel! ;D I was curious as to how the votes were actually counted. I understand that you go to someones house or a school gym and listen to people give their speel about a candidate. But how do you make sure your vote gets counted?

i believe each county holds a caucus, at a central location. registered democrats are to attend. i believe votes are taken and counted like a normal election, but i'm not sure. i have a hunting buddy that is going (as a kiss-up to a landowner) so i will have more info after they pass

I still don't get it.
They are walking the streets aking for votes in a town that would fit in my back yard. I mean, if I were the leader of the DNC, I'd want to be somewhere that I knew would not vote a democratic ticket instead of Iowa where they will most definantly win the vote. What's the point? Don't you want to be where votes could be swayed from the right instead of asking for votes you know you're gonna get?

every state has them, iowa is just the first. if they win iowa, then they can call themselves the front runner. that way, people will vote for the guy who is ahead, instead of the candidat they actually like. because, no one wants to vote for a loser.

After all this talk about the caucases I still don't know how they work. Do you get a ballot or do you just sit in a room and raise your hand and somenone counts the hands?
BTW you that Sen John Kerry won tonight? Free ketchup for everyone! ;D ;D
