The guy that went in half on Lady is wanting to breed her to a BIG male walker. They say he is around 90 pounds. Lady is around 80pounds. There are some people wanting some big pups out of him, and she should throw a couple. If we do I might keep the biggest male. I have been wanting a male anyways.

Sounds Like a good idea. The worst mistake we ever made was not raising any pups from the female I had.
As far as hunting, I'd take a female dog over a male anytime.

A guy at work said he read up on the male and it is 96 pounds and is at a hunting wieght for his frame! Man, I might spring for the whole brreding fee to get the biggest male of the litter!

I know females are supposed to be less hardheaded, but I dont like having to keep em up when they are in heat. I want to go when ever. Know what I mean?

That is one of the bad things about a female.
Back in the day when we hunted all the time we would buy shots that would keep them from coming in heat.
The shots worked good but I believe it cut a few years off of their life.

You can keep those friggin males bro! My last Shorthair was a male and that SOB almost drove me insane. My wife kept reminding of the male Brittany I used to have " I told you not to get another male, you remember the last one?".

I prefer female birddogs. IMO, I get a lot less attitude and more performance.

Belle's cycle brought her into season in March and September. September's a bad time to have to keep your birddog kenneled so I got her fixed. I don't have room for puppies anyway.
