Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I have only hunted for 2 years so please be patient. I am new to all of this, so if I seem a little confused, just bare with me, I'll get it! I have a one year old black lab that my X bought as a hunting companion. He started training her, but when he left, he took the rifles, the bows, etc.., but left her. She's a great dog with a big heart and a whole lot of strive. She loves the water and is a great retriever. Like I said, my x took everything, so I'm stuck with this great dog and nowhere to start. Please help!

Hi There,
I am sorry to hear that, I am sorrier still that I am too far away to be of any constructive help, hopefully some one form your side of the pond will be able to help out some. Now you certainly sound like you like to hunt, but not having any gear at all is making it hard I would think.
You mentioned Bows and rifles etc but which did you prefer to use? perhaps that would be the avenue to try to follow at first the others can come along later. Keep you chin up, it will all come good in the end.

I am not very experienced with bowhunting. I've been a few times, but my aim is...well, slightly off target! I love to duck hunt and my lab likes retrieving dummies, if that helps any! Hi There, You mentioned Bows and rifles etc but which did you prefer to use? perhaps that would be the avenue to try to follow at first the others can come along later. Keep you chin up, it will all come good in the end.

Welcome to the board. You'll get plenty of help here. Shorthair and some others can prolly help with the dog training. Most of us know quite a bit about guns and others have a wealth of knowledge about bows.
Sorry to hear about your circumstances.
Welcome nontheless!

I'll give you my official welcome here too! Welcome to another GA hunter! She's in my neck of the woods so there are three members in the area to help. I won't be able to offer much in the way of dog hunting this year because of opening the store. I will be able to take you along for some still hunting or waterfowling if you're interested. Of course load us down with all the questions you have. There are some pretty good hunters here and they are more than willing to help out.

Burke County for me also, just between Hepzibah and Keysville. I belong to club that has 23,000 acres. For $20 a trip you can go deer hunting with me. I shoot geese on Clarks Hill, these trips won't cost you. I shoot ducks on club but guest fee for duck hunting is only $5.
