Let's all say a little extra prayer for those who live on the gulf coast. This thing is going to cause a lot of damage.

Almost as importantly as prayer, please give what you can.
It looks like we may take in some family members of a close friend that is in need. They have a small house and 11 family members all from New Orleans. I asked to take half of them in.

We have a ton of evacuees here now, all the hotels and condos are either slashing their prices to try and accomadate them or some of the indavidual condo owners are putting them up for free. My boss had a motel that has been closed for about 5 months Waiting on the final closing and then it was to be torn down and a high rise go up. He called the buyer, told him the sell was off gave him back what ever he had in escrow and is opening it up free of charge to evecs. It needed a ton of work, the bottom floor had 11/2 ft of water in it from Dennis. He called me at 9:30 thursday night told me what he was going to do. I was on the news at 10 pm and when I showed up at 6am friday morning with a crew to get started working on it there where no less than 100 people standing in the parking lot volunteering to help. Took 2 full 16 hour days but at about 4pm today the first family moved in. Some of the rooms couldn't be salvaged but there will be roughly 38 families with a roof over there head rent free for the next couple months.

That was a cool thing for him to do. How many people would have only seen the dollar signs?
