Currently seeking a new church home. The one I was in got too political & clicky. I do go somewhere every Sunday morning that I am not working.

Im sure it will come as no surprize to most of yall that I havent been to church since I was old enough to make my own decision. I spent a year in a christian school in Fla and that was enough for me. It aint my thing.

I used to feel that way DS. The chuch I grew up in was way too hypocritical on several things and it really went against what I believed so I quit going.
Several years ago, it dawned on me that I was missing the message because I didn't like the messengers and I didn't like that.
I like a small congregation where I know everyone. We go to the church where my wife grew up and it's a great group of people but the singing is awful.

I grew up in an Old Regular Baptist family where my father was a preacher. It was, and still is, so hypocritical of all other religions and constantly shouting the message that without redemption by the church we are all going to hell. Before I got divorced this year my wife and I used to take our daughter to the Salvation Army Church in Fort Myers, FL. I must say I enjoyed this much more because of the fellowship of everyone there. Right now I am in my own little world and I am not sure when I will go to church again.

...that without redemption by the church we are all going to hell. The church doesn't redeam us. It is Christ's blood that does that. No matter if you are in a church building 24/7 or never grace it's door. Going to church is more about fellowship with like minded people & sometimes learning more (or teaching more) about Christ. I try not to be one of those Bible thumpers that scream "repent or die". I focus more on God's love through Christ Jesus. Jesus never said "Do good deeds, go to church, & never sin, then you can go to Heaven." Sorry about the sermon.

Noonebil there is nothing to be sorry about. I happen to agree with you. Maybe there is to much of the quiteness of the outdoors in me to hear repent or go to hell.

All my family but me belong to a church of some kind... I am more Spiritual than Religous ( if that makes sense?) and as for Women Preachers I couldn't sit and listen to one no matter what she had to say....I don't think a woman should be preaching but thats just my feelings ..

Except for several years when I was trying drink all the liquor and date all the women in Augusta and anywhere I went surfing I have been going regular. We are changing churches right now because my church I grew up in doesn't have any kids or much to offer my daughter. I really don't want to move because I love all those old folks and they've known me since I was a youngun. They stuck with me and prayed for me during my hellian days.
