I picked these boys up from a guy that said the only problem was they will only run a deer about 200, 300 yards and come back. That is exactly what I was looking for, a couple of jumpdogs that I don't have to chase all over the place. They are only about a year and a half old, I am gonna work 'em all summer right up to huntn season.

He said they are Bench Leg Beagles, kinda look like a Basset but a little taller. Supposed to be from good stock.

Just an up to date. They seem to have good noses. Took them for a "walk" Sunday and a deer got up right in front of us. The boys chased it quite a ways. Here is an up dated picture. The taller one is Sampson and the other is Baxter. Sampson is more of a hunter, but they won't let either get far.
