The Black Mumbas did pretty fair this year. I DID sharpen the ones I used though, they didnt seem that sharp out of the package to me. Both deer I shot had pretty nice holes in them.

Is there any truth to the idea that mechanicals may not function right if you hit a deer at an angle, say a quartering away shot??

Not sure about all the mechanicals, but I've made several quatering away shots with my little Rocket steelheads, and they performed just like they was suppose to.
Yep, I like my Rocket steelhead mech.
