Saturday morning the weather was perfect so I crawled up in my tri-pod stand(not my first choice for bowhunting). Been seeing several bucks so about 30minutes after daylight I hear a noise behind me and turn and see a 6point. I can't stand up because the deer will spot me so I wait a minute and he walks toward the creek, straight away from me. Now I stand and draw and give quick grunt to try and get the deer to turn which he does, but is blocked by a bush. After a few secondes he takes a couple of steps and I grunt again to stop him and let the arrow go. The arrow finds a limb that I missed seeing and goes right over the bucks back and he takes off. Deer 1--GCH 0
Sunday I decide to get back in the same stand and about 8am what looks to be a decent buck steps out into the trail in front of my stand at about 150yrds then another buck right behind him and then another deer that is probably a buck but can't make out antlers. All three deer turn and walk away from me and out of sight. I grunted a couple of times but couldn't get them to head my way. 30 minutes later I see 4 more deer step out in the trail at about 100yrds. I grunted and all 4 start trotting down the trail straight at me. I am already standing and I come to full draw and at about 45 yrds the lead buck,a small 6pt, stops facing me with the other 3 right behind him. So now I'm at full draw with 4 deer bucks facing me unobstructed and can,t get them to turn so I can get the shot off. After what seemed like an eternity the 6 pt gets a nervous and swaps ends and all 4 bucks trot off. They knew something wasn't right but couldn't figure out what. Atleast they weren't spooked so they will probably be back. All in all a great weekend .
